The island is located in Split-Dalmatia county, about 1 nautical mile from Drvenik Veli, and 10 nautical miles from the city of Trogir. The surface area of the island is only 3,4 km2 what explains its name (“Mali” in Croatian means small). The highest point of Drvenik Mali is 79 meters high Glavica.

Main settlement on the island is located in the east part and in the central part of the island where lives around 60 permanent inhabitants. The islanders are mainly engaged in fishing, agriculture (mainly olives and carob), and tourism. Drvenik Mali is also known for its extra virgin olive oil.

The island has many attractive pebbles and sandy beaches and coves which are surrounded by crystal clear sea. On sandy cove Vela Rina there is a restaurant with fresh seafood worth visiting. On the west side of Drvenik Mali are two beautiful beaches - Papalj and Mala Rina. We recommend renting a boat and visiting hidden places, beaches, and coves of this beautiful island. As the island is small, it takes just about 2 hours to explore Drvenik Mali and its beauty by foot. The island of Drvenik Mali has all you need for a peaceful vacation on the Mediterranean - several bars, restaurants, and a local grocery shop. The island is not visited by many tourists so you will enjoy the tranquility away from crowds.

Cars are forbidden on the island and the majority of roads are unpaved what are the main reasons why this small picturesque island has remained preserved and why it has not been devasted by construction.
