Varaždin is a city and the center of the Varaždin County in Croatia. It is located in the north of Croatia, on the right bank of the Drava river and it has about 50,000 residents. According to archaeological findings, the city area was inhabited in Roman times, as evidenced by the names of the two currently existing street - Via Militum and Via Petovia. It was first mentioned in the 12th century when it became a free royal city. After the termination of the Turkish attacks and threats, the city rapidly grew and experienced raid development in the 17th and 18th centuries, and from 1767. to 1776. was briefly the Croatian capital.
