Ogulin Ogulin is a small town in the county of Karlovac in Croatia. It is located in the center of the continental Croatia, between Zagreb and Rijeka in the large valley formed by the two rivers Dobra and Mrežnica. Ogulin has about 15,000 residents. It was founded in the late 15th century around the fortress built by the aristocratic family Frankopan. The economic and cultural development begins in the 19th century when it became the seat of the former Ogulin Modruš-Rijeka county. Today the Ogulin and the surrounding area is slowly developing tourism thanks to cultural, historical and natural sights. Probably the most recognizable symbol is the Frankopan castle above the abyss of the river Dobra, Đulin abyss. Today inside the castle is located heritage Museum with some interesting collections: archaeological, ethnographic, mountaineering and alpinism.
