Kostrena is a small coastal town and municipality in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. It is situated on a peninsula 10 kilometers in length and in the vicinity of town Rijeka, surrounded by the Rijeka and Bakar bay. It was first mentioned in the early 15th century, and the history of Kostrena was known for its excellent sailors, captains and ship owners. Here it is today known Viktor Lenac repair shipyard.
