Sisak is the capital of Sisak-Moslavina County in Croatia. It is situated at the mouth of river Kupa in the river Sava, the fertile and marshy area of Pannonian plain. In the 1st century BC on the site of today's Sisak was established a Roman military camp - Siscija, which soon acquired the status of the city, and later the status of the capital province of Pannonia Savia.
