Baška is a popular tourist town and municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county in Croatia. It is located in the southeast of the island Krk in a large natural bay surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and pine trees. Baška was first mentioned in the 13th century under the name Castelum Besca, though this area has always been inhabited by Illyrian tribes, and the ancient Romans after them.
