Kornić is a small tourist town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county in Croatia. It is situated on the west coast of the island Krk, on a small hill above the Punat bay. It is about 500 meters away from the sea. From the town of Krk, Kornić is only 7 kilometers away, and the neighboring Punat is only 3 kilometers away. Administratively it belongs to the town of Krk. In the last few decades, Kornić has significantly expanded and modernized thanks to the construction of apartments and houses. Since it is located on a small hill, it offers a beautiful view of the bay and neighboring Punat. It was first mentioned in the 16th century in the writings of Krk diocese, and in the 19th century began intensive development of the area, when a new church of St. James was built. The church is located in the center of town. Kornić has about 300 permanent residents, who, along with traditional activities such as sheep breeding and olive growing, work in tourism and provide quality accommodation in their private houses.
