They are situated along the southwest coast of the island of Rab, opposite the island Dolin across the Barbat channel. From the ferry terminal Mišnjak, Barbat is the first settlement on the island of Rab, followed by the Barbat, which continues to the town of Rab. They are stretched along nearly 5 kilometers coastline that has many beautiful small beaches and piers for small fishing boats. Administratively they belong to the town of Rab and the two together has about 3500 inhabitants. Both places have a long history of settlement, as well as the entire island of Rab.
