Sveti Martin na Muri is a small place and the seat of the municipality of the same name, which is located in Međimurje County at the northernmost point of the Republic of Croatia. Here the Mura River enters Croatia and forms the natural border between Croatia, Slovenia, and Hungary. The whole area can be divided into two geographical units; the lowland part in the north along the Mura river and the hilly part of the Međimurje hills in the south. The municipality consists of 14 settlements: Brezovec, Čestijanec, Gornji Koncovčak, Gradiščak, Grkaveščak, Jurovčak, Jurovec, Kapelščak, Lapšina, Marof, Sveti Martin na Muri, Toplice Sveti Martin, Vrhovljan and Žabnik.
