Rovanjska is a small tourist village in the municipality Jasenice, in the county of Zadar in Croatia. It is situated in the Velebit channel at the foot of the mighty Velebit mountain and is about 28 km north-east of the historic city of Zadar. Near Rovanjska passes highway Zagreb - Split and Maslenica bridge that connects continental Croatia with Dalmatia. In the center, there is the Church of St. George, the pearl of old Croatian church architecture. The unusual combination of mountain and sea marked the lives of the local population who were mainly engaged in animal husbandry, agriculture, and fishing.
