Tkon is a small and quiet tourist town and municipality in the county of Zadar in Croatia. It is located on the island of Pašman and has a population of 700 inhabitants. Pašman is the second-largest island of Zadar archipelago. From the mainland is separated with 2-5 km wide Pašman channel. It is connected by ferry to the town of Biograd. To the northwest is connected with the island of Ugljan by a bridge, and can be reached by ferry from Zadar to Ugljan. The greatest wealth of this small island place is unspoiled nature, clear sea and interesting underwater world, many small bays with sandy beaches and a rich cultural and historical heritage. It was first mentioned in the 10th century under the name Katan by the Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus. In the past Tkon was typical island fishing village, where the population besides fishing were engaged in cattle breeding and agriculture, especially production of olive oil and wine.
