Sveti Petar is a small and quiet tourist place in Zadar county in Croatia. It is situated halfway between the much more famous towns of Zadar and Biograd. Sveti Petar is named after the church of St. Peter the Apostle from the 18th century which dominates the skyline of the place. In the center, there are still visible ruins of medieval outbuildings that belonged to the former abbey. One of the interesting things that are also located in the center of the place is the village well with drinking water that never dries up. The well was built in 1911 and was the only source of drinking water in the area, which was used for drinking but also for watering the gardens. The locals are mainly engaged in animal husbandry, cultivation of olive trees and vines and fishing. Sveti Petar is increasingly turning to tourism and service industries, and its friendly locals offer accommodation service in rooms and apartments of family houses. It is ideal for family holidays.
