Lokve is a small mountain village and municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. It is situated in the center of Gorski Kotar halfway between Delnice and Fužine, next to the highway Zagreb-Rijeka. Along the village runs a small river Lokvarka, whose reconstruction in the mid-20th century created a large accumulation lake — Lokvarsko lake. The place is first mentioned in the 15th century and in early 19th century experienced a sudden economic boom with the passage of the Louisiana road that connected the cities of Karlovac to Rijeka and continental Croatia to the Adriatic sea.
