Preko is a tourist town and municipality in the county of Zadar in Croatia. It is located on the northeastern coast of the island of Ugljan and has a population of 1500 inhabitants. Preko is the administrative center of the island of Ugljan which is named after the fact that it is located right across from the historic city of Zadar. It is well connected with Zadar, from which runs the ferry line Zadar-Preko. The old parts of town are typical Dalmatian architecture, narrow cobbled streets and old country houses of Zadar noble families. Today, most of these houses offer quality and affordable accommodation in well-furnished apartments, rooms or entire houses.
Beautiful sandy beach Jaz is the main beach in Preko where is the Blue Flag, a symbol of clean sea and good quality beaches.
