Olib is an island located in North Dalmatia, near the islands Premuda, Silba, and Planik. It has an indented coastline with many bays, beaches, and coves, while the shore is mostly sandy and shallow which makes it ideal for sailors and families with small children. Olib belongs to the Zadar archipelago and lies between Silba and Pag. The total surface of Olib is around 26 km2 while Kalac is the highest peak (just 74 meters high).

The island of Olib has been inhabited for many centuries. The first settlement on the island was Aloip, located on Gradina hill. In the 20th century, the island was strongly affected by a large depopulation. Today on Olib lives around 150 permanent inhabitants. Olib residents were engaged in fishing and agriculture, but today once the cultivated area is neglected and the majority of residents live from tourism.

The small settlement of Olib is the only settlement on the island and it bears the same name as the island. The settlement of Olib is situated on the west side of the island and it is surrounded by many hidden shallow beaches and coves which are ideal for swimming and diving. On the other side of the island, there is the most beautiful beach on Olib - sandy Slatinica bay. Because Slatinica is slightly remote, usually it is not overcrowded.

The island of Olib is an ideal place for quiet holidays. Because of preserved nature and authentic atmosphere of a small Dalmatian island, it is a perfect destination for lovers of privacy and tranquility. The locals offer and sell fresh fish, quality homemade wine, and extra virgin olive oil and cheese - enjoy the taste of authentic Dalmatian specialties. We recommend visiting the church of St. Paul from the 12th century and Kaštel fortress from the 16th century. For lovers of adventure and sports, we recommend fishing, windsurfing, diving, and biking around the island. Explore sandy beaches and hidden coves by bike and feel the true beauty of this pearl of the Adriatic sea.

Although it is remote, Olib has good connections with the mainland. There are regular ferry and catamaran lines from Zadar port and from the island of Lošinj. Accommodation on Olib is offered exclusively in private apartments, holiday homes, and rooms.
