Viškovo municipality is located a few kilometers northwest of the town of Rijeka in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Viškovo was built in the 18th century on a hill where was a road connecting Rijeka and Ljubljana. Today, around 15,000 inhabitants live in the whole municipality, including several larger settlements: Marinići, Viškovo, Marčelji, Saršoni, Mladenići, Sroki and Kosi.
