Vinišće is a small fishing and tourist town in the Split-Dalmatia County in Croatia. It is located in the picturesque and quiet cove of crystal clear sea and untouched nature, 8km from the Marina, and 19 kilometers from the town of Trogir. It was first mentioned in documents of Trogir chapter from the 13th century. However, this area has been inhabited since Roman times, when the retired Roman soldiers have been given land and planted vines. Vines are here very well managed thanks to the favorable natural conditions. The place is named after the vine, and today its residents are still growing vines and producing very good quality wine. Vinišća is the old Croatian word that translates as vineyards. The place today has about 850 permanent residents, who, in addition to tourism, are engaged in fishing and agriculture. The main road Split-Šibenik is several kilometers away, so it is an ideal place for lovers of quiet family vacations in private rooms, villas, apartments, and houses.
