Trogir is a historic town and harbor on the Adriatic coast in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia, with a population of 10.818 inhabitants. Trogir as the city has 2300 years of continuous urban tradition and its evolution through history has been influenced by the ancient Greeks, then the Romans and Venetians. Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic town, not only in the Adriatic but in all of Central Europe, and is the real city - museum. All visitors, tourists, and lovers of cultural and historical monuments, art, original buildings and old stone street in Trogir will learn about the manifold and complex historical heritage. The unique historical core, Radovan's portal, Cathedral of St. Lawrence from the XII. century, churches, convents and city museum are protected as a whole and since 1997 is on the UNESCO world cultural heritage list. Tourism is the most important industry in the whole Trogir area with more than 20,000 beds in hotels and private houses and apartments. There is also one of the fastest-growing port for nautical tourism in Croatia. The big advantage is the proximity to Split airport, which is located only 5 kilometers from the city center.
