Dramalj is a small tourist town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. It is located in the immediate vicinity of Crikvenica, to which it administratively belongs. With Crikvenica is connected by a beautiful coastal promenade that stretches along several kilometers. Dramalj has about 1,500 inhabitants, most of whom are employed in the tourism and hospitality industry. Dramalj is inhabited only recently and was first mentioned in the 18th century, named Zagorje - Dramalj. Initially, it was a fishing port with olive trees, most of which were owned by residents of the village Tribalj in the hinterland of Dramalj. Intensive development of village began in the late 19th century, after the first arrivals of tourists in neighboring Crikvenica and the rest of the Croatian coast. Today is Dramalj a modern tourist place with numerous private villas, apartments, resorts, and hotels. Tourist complex Kačjak, named after the peninsula where it is located, is comprising of bungalows, sports and recreation center with all sports facilities, disco and a restaurant overlooking the island of Krk.
