Rogoznica is a popular tourist resort on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia, located in the southernmost part of the Šibenik-Knin county. It is situated in a deep natural bay protected from the wind and big waves, about 30 km south of Šibenik. In Rogoznica lives almost 2500 inhabitants, who are mainly engaged in olive growing, fishing and of course tourism. Most locals offer the service of affordable accommodation in apartments and rooms inside their private homes. Rogoznica was already inhabited in the 14th century and in the 16th century, the inhabitants fled the area in front of the Turkish army to safety of the nearby islet of Kopari. Therefore, the old town of Rogoznica was on the island until the second half of the 19th century when was connected to the mainland by an artificial way. The island is covered with pine trees, and the old town is dominated by narrow stone houses which have retained the authentic charm of a small Dalmatian fishing village.
