Tuhelj is a small town and municipality in Krapina-Zagorje county in Croatia. It is situated at the foot of Cesargrad hill, between wooded hills about 50 kilometers northwest of Zagreb. Tuhelj was first mentioned at the end of the 14th century, and in the 17th century here was built the magnificent baroque church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the monument of the first category. Tuhelj is probably best known by Terme Tuhelj, thermal water and healing mud that has been known since the time of ancient Rome. Today the Tuhelj Terme is one of the most complete tourist and recreational centers of continental tourism in Croatia. The center offers 4 outdoor swimming pools and 4 indoor pools and lazy river with many water attractions, water massages and water slides for relaxation and fun for the whole family. The water at the source has a temperature of 33 degrees and has proven therapeutic for rheumatism, sciatica, arthritis, gout, gynecological diseases, and respiratory diseases.
