Buzet Buzet is a picturesque small town in the county of Istria in Croatia. It is located in the Mirna valley in the north of the Istrian peninsula near the border with Slovenia. It has about 6,000 inhabitants and it is divided into two parts. The old town of Buzet is located at 150 m high hill above the Mirna river valley, while the newer part of town, called Fontana, is located in a fertile valley at the foot of the hill. There are numerous traces of Illyrians and Romans and the Venetian Republic, which ruled this area until the end of the 18th century.
