Ravna Gora is a small mountain village and municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. It is situated in the central part of Gorski Kotar on the spacious plateau at about 700 meters above sea level and surrounded by high mountains. During the Middle Ages, this area was mostly deserted and uninhabited because of the frequent Turkish invasions and robberies. Only after passing of the Turkish threat in the 17th century with the help of the Zrinski counts began more intensive settlement. Economic development begins in the 18th century with the construction of Karolina road that ran through the town and connected the cities of Karlovac, Kraljevica, and Rijeka.
