Delnice is a small town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. It is situated in Gorski Kotar in the high mountainous plateau 700 meters above sea level, which is surrounded by high mountains above 1500 meters above sea level. Delnice is also the center of the mountainous region of Croatia, dominated by mountain climate with long, snowy winters and short and cool summers. The whole area of Gorski Kotar is rich in beech, spruce and fir forests inhabited by deers, bears and wolves and many rodents and various species of birds and insects. It was first mentioned in the 15th century as a property of the Frankopan family who, during the Middle Ages contributed to the development of this region. The Adriatic sea is only about 30 kilometers away and the city of Rijeka is about 40 km away.
Close to Delnice is Risnjak National Park with the highest peak of Gorski Kotar and the source of the river Kupa where you can enjoy the fresh air, watching the rich flora and fauna.
