Tourist info Raslina

Raslina Raslina is a small tourist town in the Šibenik-Knin county in Croatia. It is located 13 kilometers northwest of Šibenik, on the west coast of Prokljan lake. Prokljan lake is located in the lower reaches of the river Krka and because of mixing with the sea water, the water in the surface layer is brackish and salty at the bottom. Raslina has about 500 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in agriculture and tourism. Administratively it belongs to the town of Sibenik, which can be reached by taxi boats. Throughout its history, Raslina has always been closely related to Šibenik and the Šibenik noble families. It was first mentioned in the 13th century at the foundation of the diocese of Šibenik, and in the 15th century here was built the Church of St. Michael. At the beginning of the 16th century to defend the town against the Turks was built the castle with strong walls and towers. Traces of the old castle are now, unfortunately, become extinct because of World War II, when Raslina was burned down and destroyed. Today Raslina is an attractive tourist destination known for its fish specialties, quality wines, and clean seawater. Accommodation in Raslina is offered exclusively in apartments, rooms and holiday homes as part of private family accommodation. One of the biggest attractions near Raslina is certainly Krka National Park, which is only a few kilometers away. Apart from the beauty of the river Krka and Prokljan lake, guests can enjoy the peace, tranquility, and harmony of this small Dalmatian place, which is ideal for family holidays.
