Savudrija is a tourist and fishing town in the county of Istria in Croatia. It is situated in the northwestern part of the Istrian peninsula near the border with Slovenia. It was first mentioned in written records in the second half of the 12th century when it was part of the municipality of Piran. According to archaeological findings, the area of Savudrija has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, and here have been found valuable remains of Roman fortifications and port facilities.
