Kolan is a small town and seat of the municipality in the county of Zadar in Croatia. It is located in the interior of the island Pag in a valley at the foot of the peaks Gradac (206 m) and Nebeska (256 m), which protect it from strong winds. It is situated between the two largest towns on the island - Pag and Novalja. The whole municipality has a population of 800 residents in the three villages. This part of the island is characterized by karst relief with no or very little fertile land. Therefore, the vegetation is very scarce or very low grass and bushes, which favors primarily sheep and vineyards that are the main activities in the village.
